Workshops accompanying Thomas Nolf: "As Real As It Gets"

In the exhibition As Real As It Gets, photographer Thomas Nolf takes you into the world of aviation and the romance of travel. He combines photographs, simulated images, and memories from his childhood with an impressive flight simulator. Visitors experience the final flight of an 82-year-old pilot, while subtle aeroplane sounds complete the atmosphere.

With the class, we dive into the magic of flying, movement, and sound. We will design a musical aviator costume—a creative outfit that produces sound with every movement. Which materials rustle, whoosh, or crackle? How does texture influence sound? We explore how different materials sound and react to movement and the body.

The highlight of the workshop is a playful, musical air show, where all the crackling, flashing, whooshing, and rustling sounds come together in a dynamic parade. An inspiring moment where movement, art, and creative expression merge in the classroom!

Age: Kindergarten (4–6 years), Primary School (6–12 years), or Secondary School (12–18 years)

Group size: Max. 20 participants. Larger groups will be split into two.
