In 2027, FARO and Kunstenpunt will organize a General Assembly on the visual arts and museums with visual arts programs, and they’d love to hear your input.

Be-Part, Abby, and Musea Kortrijk invite you to a fishbowl discussion to reflect—with as many voices as possible—on the future of the visual arts field in Flanders. We want to forge new connections—across the boundaries of artists’ practices, collectives, and organizations—and exchange ideas together. How can we strengthen one another? How do we build bridges? How do we ensure a diversity of voices? And how can artists continue to develop their practices?

Visual arts organizations, artists, and museums already collaborate frequently today. But how does that collaboration work? How do we build bridges between the various stakeholders? In what ways can we strengthen one another? And how do we connect art more closely with society?

We’ll explore these questions together in depth during a fishbowl discussion. This is a format in which a small inner circle of 3 to 5 people discusses the topic, while the larger outer circle listens. Listeners can actively join the conversation by physically taking a seat in the inner circle, at which point another speaker will step aside. We will then discuss the challenges and explore possibilities together.

This event is part of the REFUGE pavilion’s program and takes place in Dutch.
