Schrijf je inWe warmly invite you to the presentation of two new publications, organized in collaboration with Art Paper Editions and Posture Editions. On the one hand, we will present Provisoria by Ria Verhaeghe, and on the other, OVERWEGINGEN by Ria Bosman.
Ria Verhaeghe will be in conversation with Barbara De Coninck about her extensive archive Provisoria and the new publication that stems from it. The book brings together more than 3,500 carefully selected images: an invitation to see differently, to organize, and to give meaning to the photographic world. The publication was made possible with the support of Be-Part and in collaboration with A.P.E., and includes texts by Giorgia Basch, Barbara De Coninck, Zoë Gray, and Philippe Van Cauteren.
Since the early 1990s, Ria Verhaeghe has been collecting images from international newspapers. This led to Provisoria, an alternative archive of over 60,000 photographs, organized by keyword, date, and theme. The result is an unusual and layered portrait of photojournalism—sometimes raw, sometimes poetic, sometimes unexpectedly tender. The archive spans a wide spectrum, from dramatic events to ambiguous scenes, from the grotesque to the intimate.
In 2023, Verhaeghe exhibited at Be-Part Waregem with the show Panta Rhei, Spiegelrei.

Writer Marieke De Maré, winner of the Confituur Bookstore Prize, reads aloud her text written especially for this book, the account of an inspiring encounter with Ria Bosman, the artist’s house, and her visual work.
The publication OVERWEGINGEN brings together 75 works on paper, created between 2020 and 2025. They are contemplative exercises: sometimes preparations for monumental weavings, sometimes simple yet profound solfège for the mind. Published by Posture Editions, with the support of Be-Part and thanks to Tatjana Pieters, the book offers an intimate insight into Bosman’s studio practice.
Ria Bosman works at the intersection of painting and textile. Fascinated by color and material, she systematically explores how color affects form, materials, and the surrounding space. Her oeuvre ranges from sketchbooks and workbooks to monumental leather and textile structures, always with a strong emphasis on painterly qualities.
In 2025, Bosman exhibited at Be-Part Kortrijk with the show Op het ritme van de stilte, where her exploration of color and material was again central.
