Joëlle Dubois (1990, Ghent) is renowned for her bold and vibrant paintings that center on themes such as gender, femininity, sexuality, and diversity. In her recent works, she explores deeply personal subjects like grief and the loss of identity, resulting in more monochromatic compositions that powerfully convey emotion. The exhibition at Be-Part Kortrijk features a unique mix of older and new works, including a brand-new video piece.
After exploring the exhibition, students dive into a hands-on creative workshop tailored to their personal experiences. Using themes from the expo as inspiration, students will be encouraged to translate their own stories and emotions into artwork. This process-focused approach allows plenty of room for experimentation and creative interpretation.
