Summer Residency open call

Be-Part and rhizome_ are offering a residency spot this summer for artists who want to focus on developing interdisciplinary work from 1 July until 14 September 2025.

The residency takes place in the exhibition space of rhizome_, located in Kortrijk’s station district. This unique workspace fosters a direct connection with the surrounding environment and the city. The residency is built on three core pillars:

• We welcome artists for whom research is a fundamental part of their practice. Throughout the residency, the emphasis is on process and experimentation. Projects with a strong interdisciplinary approach are preferred, and collaborations that support this are encouraged.

• We are particularly interested in hybrid artistic practices that explore the boundaries between disciplines, including visual arts, audiovisual arts, dance, music, choreography, scenography, and performance.

• Engaging with the public is also a key aspect. The studio is seen as a space for encounters, dialogue, and exchange. We encourage proposals that actively connect with the urban context and engage audiences in innovative ways. To support this, one or two public presentation weekends will be scheduled during the residency.

The residency runs from 1 July to 14 September 14, 2025, culminating in a public showcase on the weekend of 13 and 14 September.
